Our History
For more than five decades, Maumelle Country Club has been a centerpiece of golf, fellowship, and community in Central Arkansas. Established in 1969 and opened for play in 1970, the club was developed as one of the original amenities serving the growing Maumelle community and has remained a proud part of the city's history ever since. The club's championship 18-hole golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect Edmund B. "Ed" Ault, whose portfolio includes many respected courses throughout the United States. Ault created a traditional parkland-style layout that combines broad fairways, strategic bunkering, and challenging shot-making opportunities. Stretching more than 7,400 yards from the championship tees, the course remains one of the longest and most challenging private golf courses in Arkansas.
Throughout its history, Maumelle Country Club has hosted numerous amateur, state, regional, and professional golf events. The club has welcomed Arkansas State Amateur and Senior Amateur competitions, PGA-affiliated events, USGA qualifiers, and the long-standing Maumelle Classic, which has become a tradition among Arkansas golfers. These events have helped establish MCC as a respected venue for competitive golf while showcasing the course to players from across the region.
While golf remains at the heart of the club, Maumelle Country Club has always been about more than the game. Generations of members have gathered here to celebrate milestones, enjoy family activities, participate in social events, and build lifelong friendships. The clubhouse has served as a gathering place where members come together for dining, entertainment, tournaments, and community events that strengthen the bonds of the club.
Today, Maumelle Country Club continues to evolve while honoring the traditions that have defined it since its founding. As a member-owned club, MCC remains committed to providing an exceptional experience through outstanding golf, welcoming hospitality, family-focused amenities, and a vibrant social atmosphere.
From its beginnings in the late 1960s to its role as one of Central Arkansas' premier private clubs today, Maumelle Country Club stands as a testament to the enduring values of community, tradition, and excellence. We are proud of our past and excited about the future as we continue creating memorable experiences for generations to come.
